World Wonder: In December we traveled with Cameron to Phoenix and the Grand Canyon for a
four-day weekend. We had a wonderful time that included the Mesa Southwest
Museum, Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo, the red rocks of Sedona, a small-town
Christmas parade in Flagstaff, driving and eating on Route 66, the Hoover Dam,
and visits to Paris, Venice, and New York, Las Vegas. But best of all was
the magnificent Grand Canyon! (See our travel

||Holiday Cheer: Jan's mother, Betty, and her
friend Bep [left] visited us from Holland for 10 days in November. We
enjoyed sharing Thanksgiving food and traditions with them!
Checkered flag!: Jan won the 2002 Sports Car Club of America
Oregon regional championship in the PCA1 class. He received his award November
2nd at a
banquet in Portland.
New family member: September 27th a new cat moved in: Tabitha, a
sweet, affectionate, pretty three-year-old [right]. She came to us from Cameron's dad's house,
where she was no longer getting along with her sister, so we took her into our home.
It's been a long time since Lindy died in February
2001, and we're excited to have Tabitha in our lives and our laps.
Kleenex moments: Jan and Amy spent the weekend of September 21st
in Silicon Valley, Calif., to attend the wedding of Elisabeth Byström
and Evan ten Brink. It was a beautiful wedding, a great party, a fun and
relaxing (and sunny) weekend, and a treasured opportunity to visit with Elisabeth
(who used up my supply of Kleenex) and to see the two of them so happy!
Cast off! On September 6th, Cameron got his arm cast off.
We were glad to say goodbye; it was getting really stinky! Read more about
Cameron's broken arm in his album.
